Take a look around you, in any setting populated by human activity, and communication is all around us - from road signs to shop windows, from advertising boards to vehicle livery, the power of the message is everywhere you turn. Pretty much all of it is in the form of print. So, if you’re looking to make a big impression with your products or services, then say ‘Hello’ to the limitless world of large-format printing.
When you need your message to be highly visible, large-format printing makes it happen. The attention-grabbing potential of printing big can also help you stand out from your competitors. With it's vibrant colours and visually stunning nature, large-format printing (sometimes also known as ‘wide-format’) has become an essential marketing tool for businesses and event planners alike to showcase their message in a bold way.
Large-format printing is usually associated with oversize ink-jet plotters - simple, sluggish machines that have been around for decades. However, new technology in the field, such as digital cutting, has transformed the concept of large scale printing into a pretty much endless world of possibilities.

The 'Visual Feast'
From floor graphics to hanging ceiling displays, the eye-catching allure of big printed items can offer an immersive experience for the viewer, prompting impulse purchases and creating lasting impressions.
Vibrant Colours
Large-format printing allows for high quality images to be reproduced with stunningly vibrant colours as well as holding sharp detail. The large size allows for more intricate designs and greater visual impact.
Many Types Of Materials
Large-format printing isn’t just limited to ink on paper. Materials such as Foamex, PVC, vinyl and metal can all be printed on using large-format printing techniques.
Durability
Specific materials can be chosen for indoor or outdoor use. The print on these products remains vibrant and intact for long periods of time. This makes large-format printing ideal for repeated use at trade shows, exhibitions, or even as permanent signage.
Any Shape You Like!
New technology such as Digital Cutting is rapidly replacing traditional and costly die-cutting. This means that even the most budget-conscious campaign can enjoy something visually striking. Hanging banners, stickers and labels can now be cut to shape - any shape, without the costly outlay of producing a metal die to cut the item to the desired appearance.
So, when it comes to getting your product or event to demand attention it deserves, large-format printing is something you can ill afford to be without. But what product is best suited to your project? Below is a list of the most popular large-format items ordered by our customers here at TPM:

TPM Tips For Getting The Best Results:
Large-format print can ensure your brand looks it’s absolute best. But of course, good looking print comes from good looking artwork. So, here are a few tips for getting the best results:
File Formats
Presenting your artwork correctly is the key to making sure your printed items look the best they possibly can. Supplying your artwork as a PDF will preserve formatting, embed fonts and flatten any hidden artwork layers, ensuring nothing looks different from what you were expecting to see. PDF files also allow for compression without a significant loss of quality, making them an ideal choice for large scale printing.
Alternatively, TIFF files offer absolute lossless compression. Unlike other file formats that will compress images and compromise details, TIFF files retain all the original data, including transparent layers, without any loss in quality. Typically though, a TIFF will be a larger file size than it’s PDF counterpart.
Artwork Resolution
Ideally, ‘vector’ files are preferred for large format printing. Typically, these are created using software such as Adobe Illustrator, Vecteezy or Inkscape. Because vector files don’t use pixel resolution, they can be infinitely scaled in size without losing any quality. Furthermore, vector files are smaller file sizes than bloated pixelated graphics, making them easier to email to your print supplier.
If your artwork isn’t a vector file, or if you aren’t sure - no worries! As a general rule of thumb, if your artwork is supplied with an image resolution of 300dpi or higher, it will generally look fine when printed.
Optimum Viewing Distance
Finally, remember that most large-format print will be read from some distance away, so it's important to consider your design accordingly. It's no good having important text on a wall banner that is too small to be legible from a distance. Likewise, important text too close the floor, or the ceiling, could easily be missed. So, keep the important stuff at eye-level!
So, whatever you're planning, add impact to your project with a banner, sign, window graphic or exhibition stand. Rather than you looking for new customers, you could well see them coming to you!
